Sonosurgery Unit
Air unit for automatic sterile control and irrigation of the Sonosurgery Air Power sonic handpiece.
This is a stand-alone unit that automatically provides sterile irrigation to the inserts.
It is safe even for pacemaker wearers and can be used without risk in environments saturated with flammable gases (operating theatres).
It obtains operating air through a quick-connect tube on the unit. It provides irrigation with sterile liquid taken from a disposable flexible bag.
The irrigation flows up to the handpiece, pushed by the inflatable bag. Unlike peristaltic pumps, the flow of irrigation fluid is constant and not intermittent. The maximum air and water pressures can be adjusted using two separate controls on the front panel; the values are displayed on the corresponding pressure gauges.
Surgical advantages:
SONOSURGERY® aspect:
High tactile feedback: Operates at 6 kHz, allowing the surgeon to clearly feel bone density and resistance.
Short learning curve: Feels similar to high-end air scalers or slow handpieces, but with surgical precision.
Extremely low thermal risk: Lower frequency = less friction. Ideal for dense cortical bone.
Plug-and-play infrastructure: Uses a standard Multiflex® connection. No additional power cables or foot pedals.
Patient safety Total: Zero electromagnetic field. No risk to pacemakers/ICDs.
