Why is the presence of MTA important in the composition of this product?
MTA cement appeared on the market in 1998 and has proven to be a "miracle" material in the field of endodontics, due to the excellent scientifically proven results obtained since then. MTA as a component signifies a perfect seal (thanks to its setting expansion), sealing integrity (thanks to its low solubility), and the highest biological regeneration (thanks to the release of calcium ions and their antimicrobial action).

Does MTA-Fillapex replace MTA reparative cement?
No. MTA-Fillapex is an endodontic sealer, while MTA Reparative is indicated for the treatment of perforations, root resorption, apical plug, and pulp capping.

What is the working time of Fillapex?
The working time is 23 minutes, allowing the general practitioner and endodontist to calmly perform root canal obturation.

What is the setting time of Fillapex?
Two hours and thirty minutes. Important: MTA-Fillapex only sets in contact with moisture. In the root canal, moisture comes from the dentinal tubules and periapical tissues. MTA-Fillapex does not completely harden on the mixing pad.

Should MTA-Fillapex be used alone or in combination with gutta-percha points?
Fillapex can be used in both techniques: associated with points and also for canal obturations without points.

What is the radiopacity of MTA-Fillapex?
It is one of the most radiopaque endodontic sealers on the market.

Can MTA-Fillapex be used in the warm condensation technique?
The boiling point of Fillapex is 150ºC. If the equipment temperature is kept below this point, then yes, Fillapex can be used.

Is MTA-Fillapex biocompatible with tissues?
Yes. MTA-Fillapex has two components that ensure this property: MTA, known as the most biologically compatible endodontic material, and salicylate resin, an organic and therapeutic resin widely used in endodontic cements.

How can MTA-Fillapex be removed from the canal?
With the same techniques indicated for other endodontic sealers.

Can MTA-Fillapex be stored in the refrigerator?
No. MTA-Fillapex is sensitive to moisture and should not be stored in the refrigerator.

How many cases can be completed with one syringe/tube of Fillapex?
1 double syringe of 4g can complete an average of 15 cases, depending on the tooth treated.
1 tube of 30g can complete an average of 200 cases, depending on the tooth treated.
